Are you thinking about trying the tennis club in Barcelona's Sant Adrià de Besòs (San Adrián de Besós) neighborhood? You're at the right place!
As you know, I really love visiting tennis clubs and have been doing so over the past few years in Barcelona.
I just played a match and spent an evening at San Adrián de Besós Tennis Club and prepared a detailed Club Review for you to make your decision easier.
Are you ready? Let's dive right into it!
A small and peaceful local club with greenery
This club is definitely one of the smaller ones in Barcelona. When my friend texted me about playing our PlayTennis match here, I got pretty excited. I love cozy little clubs!
Coming from the old town of Barcelona, you will notice how calm is this part of Sant Adrià de Besòs. What's more, when you step into the Club, it's like a little oasis: the garden is spacious and full of trees. I'm sure members enjoy endless talks over a glass of beer after playing tennis.
It was Friday 19:30 when I took the photo above, so I was a bit surprised that I found only a few people playing tennis/padel or chatting in the Club. My friend then told me that there was a recent change of ownership in the 2021/2022 season: the Club is now directed by the town hall resulting in less investments.
Anyways, there are 4 tennis courts in total: 3 clay and 1 hard (green-set) ones. The court worker takes good care of the courts, however the clay ones are not in the best shape: I'd give them 6-7 points out of 10. Also, there's 1 padel court. You can enjoy playing tennis all day long because there's a light for the dark hours.
The Club offers training possibilities for both adults and children. During my visit, a kind coach trained a group of 6 children. When I entered the reception/chaning room area, I saw that different internal tournaments are being organized. And the best part is that the membership is super-cheap (35 EUR/month) compared to other clubs in Barcelona.
Since this is a small club, you'll not have a gym or tennis shop on-site, however the essential changing rooms are great: they're in really good condition, including several showers.

A place where you can disconnect
Thanks to the fact that the Club is isolated, it's the perfect place to relax. After finishing your game, why not have a drink on the sunny terrace overlooking the padel and tennis hard courts? You can even support multiple friends at the same time from this angle.
What can be nicer than a drink while watching tennis? Two drinks! Joking aside, if you fancy some nice food, you don't need change location because there's a restaurant on-site. However, I have to mention that at the time of my visit (May 2022) it was closed.
Probably the greatest perk of the Club is its huge swimming pool which is accessible for all members. I literally imagine myself jumping into the water like a 'bomb'.
