Top tennis players, such as Stefanos Tsitsipas, Jannik Sinner, and Carlos Alcaraz will gather in Barcelona to fight for the 2022 Barcelona Open title, also known as 69th Trofeo Conde de Godó.
I visited Godó several times and created this guide for you with useful information and tips about the location, winners in previous years, interesting facts, as well as 2022 dates, prizes, top seeds, tickets, format, and tips on how to visit the tournament on a lower budget.
An exceptional experience not only for tennis-enthusiast
I clearly remember my first impression of Godó the first time my wife surprised me with a ticket.
A pleasant atmosphere with professional even organization but not elitist. A really friendly environment. The tournament is big enough to offer multiple options to watch different matches at the main courts (you can walk and switch between matches as much as you want). Also, I really like to observe pros while they are warming up.
If you want to have some time off from moving your head left-right-left-right following the tennis balls, you can easily enjoy local food or walk around the commercial area. If you have kids, it’s a good idea to bring them with you: there are usually many little ones around the Club.
Remember that April is already warm and sunny in Barcelona. It is normal to enjoy a daily temperature above 20°C and some sun at the tournament.

By bicycle (Bicing)
Barcelona is a safe city overall but I’d not recommend riding by bike to the competition, simply because leaving your bicycle on the streets for hours can be risky during these busy days.
